1. Policy Overview
Picard.Law offers a Free plan that allows you to fully evaluate our platform before committing to a paid subscription. We encourage all users to thoroughly test the Service using the Free tier before purchasing a subscription or credit package.
Due to the nature of our digital services and the immediate access provided upon payment, our refund policy is designed to be fair while protecting against service abuse.
2. Subscription Cancellation
2.1 How to Cancel
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the following methods:
- Self-Service: Navigate to Dashboard → Settings → Subscription → Cancel Subscription
- Customer Portal: Access your PayPal or payment provider portal to manage subscriptions
- Email Support: Contact us at support@picard.law
2.2 What Happens When You Cancel
Upon cancellation:
- Your subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing period
- You will retain full access to all features until the subscription expires
- No further charges will be made to your payment method
- After expiration, your account will revert to the Free plan
- Your documents and data will be retained for 30 days, then deleted unless you resubscribe
2.3 Monthly vs Annual Subscriptions

3. Refund Policy
3.1 Subscription Refunds
We offer refunds under the following circumstances:
3.2 Credit Package Refunds
Credit packages (page credits and query credits) are non-refundable once purchased. This is because:
- Credits are delivered instantly and can be used immediately
- Usage cannot be reversed once credits are consumed
- Pricing includes significant discounts for bulk purchases
Exceptions: We may issue refunds for credit packages in cases of:
- Duplicate purchases made in error (within 24 hours)
- Technical billing errors
- Credits purchased but never used, requested within 48 hours
3.3 Refund Process
To request a refund:
- Email support@picard.law with subject line “Refund Request”
- Include your account email and reason for the refund request
- Provide any relevant transaction IDs or invoice numbers
- Our team will respond within 2-3 business days

4. Payment Methods and Refund Processing
We accept payments through the following providers:
4.1 PayPal
- Refunds are processed back to your PayPal account
- Processing time: 3-5 business days
- You may also manage subscriptions directly through PayPal
4.2 Stripe (Credit/Debit Cards)
- Refunds are processed back to your original card
- Processing time: 5-10 business days (depends on your bank)
- Refunds appear as credit on your card statement
4.3 Razorpay (India)
- Refunds are processed to your original payment method (UPI, card, net banking)
- Processing time: 5-7 business days for cards, instant for UPI in most cases
- You will receive a confirmation email once the refund is initiated
5. Plan Upgrades and Downgrades
5.1 Upgrading Your Plan
When you upgrade to a higher-tier plan:
- New plan features are available immediately
- You are charged the prorated difference for the remainder of your billing cycle
- Your usage limits are increased to the new plan's allocation
5.2 Downgrading Your Plan
When you downgrade to a lower-tier plan:
- The change takes effect at the start of your next billing cycle
- You retain current plan features until the cycle ends
- No refunds are provided for the difference in plan pricing
- Excess usage may be restricted if you exceed new plan limits
6. Free Plan and Evaluation
We strongly encourage you to use our Free plan before subscribing:
- 250 pages/month: Upload and process documents to test our AI analysis
- 25 AI queries/month: Test our GraphRAG question-answering capabilities
- 1 GB storage: Store documents to evaluate our platform
- 1 project: Create a test project to explore features
The Free plan provides sufficient capacity to thoroughly evaluate the Service before making a purchase decision. This is why we maintain a strict refund policy for change-of-mind requests.
7. Special Circumstances
7.1 Service Outages
In the event of extended service outages (more than 24 consecutive hours) due to our systems, we may issue service credits or prorated refunds at our discretion.
7.2 Enterprise Customers
Enterprise plan customers may have custom refund terms as specified in their individual service agreements. Please refer to your contract or contact your account manager.
7.3 Promotional Offers
Subscriptions purchased during promotional periods or with discount codes may have modified refund terms. Any specific terms will be communicated at the time of purchase.
8. Dispute Resolution
If you are not satisfied with our response to your refund request:
- Escalation: Request escalation to our management team via legal@picard.law
- Payment Provider: You may file a dispute with your payment provider (PayPal, credit card company, etc.)
- Consumer Protection: You retain all rights under applicable consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction
We are committed to resolving disputes fairly and will work with you to find a satisfactory solution.
